How to use the clipboard

The clipboard is a place where you keep lists of items you return to often – for example a standard set of materials for a project or a set for a specific customer. Instead of searching for the same items every time or loading them from a file, you open the clipboard, see their current prices and availability and move the whole list to the basket with one click.

The clipboard is available after logging in. Clipboards are assigned to your account. No account yet? Register.

Key rules

You can have several clipboards – each with its own name and description, e.g. one for each project.
One of the clipboards is always active. Items added from the search results go to it. If you do not have a clipboard yet, the shop creates one automatically.
The clipboard is not used to place orders. You place an order from the basket – the clipboard lets you fill the basket quickly.
Prices and availability in the clipboard are refreshed every time you view it – the clipboard does not “freeze” prices.

Adding items

Search for a product.
In the search results enter the quantity and click To cubby.
The item goes to the active clipboard. The number of items is shown next to the clipboard icon in the page header.

When you hover over the clipboard icon in the header, you will see its contents and the Go to Clipboard and Clipboard list buttons.

Working with a clipboard

The clipboard page shows all its items with price, discount, value and availability. Here you can:

change the quantity – by entering a new value in the quantity field,
remove an item – with the delete button next to it,
remove all items at once – with the Remove all items button (the shop asks for confirmation; this cannot be undone),
import items from a file – with the Import items from an Excel file button,
export items to a file – with the Export to Excel button.

An item that has been withdrawn from the offer is marked as unavailable – you can remove it from the clipboard.

Import from an Excel file

The file (CSV, XLS or XLSX) should contain three columns:

column A – manufacturer symbol,
column B – quantity (a dot and a comma mean the same; no thousands separator),
column C – manufacturer code (prefix).

The first row is skipped when its quantity column holds no number, so a file with a header row works too. Before the import you will see a preview where each item is marked as ready to import, without a price or not found. Items without a price or not found are skipped – you can correct them or remove them from the list before starting the import.

Clipboard list

The clipboard list shows all your clipboards with the number of items and the net value. Use Create a new Clipboard to add another one – you enter a name and a description and decide whether it should become active right away. Each clipboard has the following buttons:

Activate – makes the clipboard active (the previously active one stops being active),
Edit – change the name and description (available for an open clipboard),
Close / Open – closing “freezes” the contents: you cannot add items or change quantities, but you can still view the clipboard and move it to the basket. If you close the active clipboard, another open clipboard becomes active; if there is none, the shop creates a new, empty one,
Delete – deletes the clipboard together with its contents, immediately and permanently. The active clipboard cannot be deleted – activate another one first,
To basket – moves the whole contents of the clipboard to the basket.

Ordering from a clipboard

Open the clipboard or the clipboard list.
Click the move-to-basket button on the clipboard page or To basket on the list. This works for each of your clipboards – also an inactive or closed one.
The whole contents of the clipboard are added to the basket and the clipboard itself stays unchanged – you can order from it again in the future.
Go to the basket and place the order as usual.

If some items cannot be moved (e.g. an item is unavailable), you will see a message that only part of the clipboard contents was added to the basket.
